The number merely depends on when that ask was added to the mff post. They are numbered just like a regular FF post, when we get a new one, they get added and the number goes up. I’ll try my best to answer ^^’Ĭould you explain the numbering/system for the still missing fic finder compilations? (you know when you draft something and then forget to do the basic stuff like say hi) Thank you very much for all your hard work!!! □□□Īh, Mod L would be the one to answer this since they usually make and edit the posts, but they are taking today off due to personal reasons. I’m the anon who just asked about the missing fic compilations. Not a stupid ask at all □ In the beginning I did do acknowledgements especially in the finder post but got a bit overwhelmed at some point and quite honestly somewhat self-conscious about pinging people □Īn overall note does sound like a good idea to me We just can’t get to everyone like Mojo used to, I apologize for that. We could probably start adding an overall note thanking everyone who sends in replies/answers, if that would work? I’d have to ask Mod L but it doesn’t seem too hard to start doing. That doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate the help, we definitely wouldn’t have found even half the number of fics we do if it weren’t for all of you guys. We do try to put in the name when we can but sometimes it’s easier to not add it because we have to focus on the other replies/possible answers/asks we receive. We get so many replies that sometimes it’s kind of difficult to keep track of who gave the right one. Sometimes it’s because the answer came from an anonymous ask and sometimes it’s because we lose the person in the replies or have deleted the ask already. Hi ^^ I totally understand where you are coming from and we do try to acknowledge people when we can, but I know we don’t get everyone. You know what? I will also start adding a “Podfic Welcome” tag to my fics! Thanks for letting us know! ^^ - Mod C mod c answers More info on how to add to the database here you can go through your favorite authors to see if they have a blanket permission statement, and then see if they’re already listed on, and if not, add them! If you want to *really* be a hero, you can help expand the database of authors that have a blanket “yes” listed! Yes, we keep a database to make it easier to find authors, but the creators in the database were all added by individual fans. Here’s the fanlore pageĪ great way to encourage more podfic is just to spread the word about blanket permission statements! Encourage authors to add them! We LOVE them! You don’t have to be some Big Name Author for a blanket permission statement to be useful, please encourage everyone to add one to their AO3 profile! (A blanket “no” is also helpful for podficcers so we know not to ask, but less helpful for you in your quest for more podfic of your favorite works). A really simple one would be something like “I give blanket permission for transformative works based on my works” but they can get as nuanced as people want. Donate a bubble tea to support my work and get the ability to private message me.Good luck though! I don’t know how Podfic creators pick out the fics they use, but maybe they might just choose one you have bookmarked eventually ^^įlamingwell said: Hey OP! Podficcers have many ways of choosing what to podfic, but many of us look for authors with blanket permission statements! Those are publicly available statements (usually on AO3 profiles) that tell podficcers and other fan creators what an author is okay with people doing with their fanwork.
